According to Atlantispa founder, Michael Grady, thalassophy is an integrated water and herbs holistic lifestyle system of diet, exercise, right life work, psycho-emotional spiritual, detoxification and correct nutritional supplements, derived much from the tradition of Father Sebastian Kneipp in the 19th Century. Grady states that thalassophy is derived from the word thalassotherapy (from the Greek word thalassos, meaning "sea"), which is the medical use of seawater. "Therapists who prescribe this integrated way of life are honorary thalassophers”, states Grady.
In ancient times, when the world was not so polluted, the best place to receive a "Thalasso-Effect" was in waves that crashed on a beach. It is in these common places worldwide that concentrated negative ions are constantly being released. Inland, the Thalasso-Effect can also be achieved in Nature, such as at the bottom of waterfalls or after thunderstorms. It is during these times that the concentration of healthy negative ions in the air are greatest.
In due time, mankind became clever enough to control the environment while preserving the natural, holistic healing effects of thalassotherapy. And with even better results. These methods became known as hydrotherapy, and balneotherapy.
In the 19th Century, the Roman Catholic priest Father Sebastian Kneipp discovered how many diseases can be prevented or stopped through hydrotherapy. People by the droves travelled to and found the joyful effects of hydrotherapy in the few hot springs (Kurorts, meaning "place of cures") in Europe. This is especially true of Germany, where the spa became - and still is - a national pastime.
Kneipp is most commonly associated with the “Kneipp Cure” form of holistic hydrotherapy, a system of healing involving the application of water through various methods, temperatures and pressure.
Kneipp created an entire system of healing based on hydrotherapy, herbalism, exercise, nutrition and spirituality. Tens of thousands came from all over the world to receive his healing advice. He was the author of the books “My Water Cure”, “Thus Shalt Thou Live”, and “My Will” and proclaimed to millions of worldwide holistic thalassophy believers up to this present day that “When used appropriately, water and herbs can cure almost any disease”.
Today, Dr. Robert O Young, perhaps one of the most famous of contemporary American honorary "thalassophers", wrote in his book, “Sick and Tired?” that if we do not change our horrific acidic diet, we may fail as a nation. Dr. Young specifically states that we must change our diets to a predominately alkaline-based water and greens diet to counterract the modern effects that synthetic toxins have had on the body. A body that is as close to pH 7.356 can more readily depend on the body's own immune system to detoxify itself. Along with this philosophy of wellness, Atlantispa's balneotherapy involves the treatment of disease by drinking alkaline water and in addition, bathing in water energized by moving, massaging, heated, ozonated or cavitated-stimulated bubbled water.
For centuries man has known of healing power, starting with thalassotherapy. People have enjoyed the relief of pain and tension offered by the oceans in the form of ionized sea spray from the waves, seaweeds and clays.
Thousands of years before Kneipp, there is said to have been a land called Atlantis. Plato first described Atlantis from two short pieces written by Tinnaeus and Critias, and believed to have been written in the decade or so before his death in 348 BC. In these, he presents an account of an ideal society that existed many millennia before the Classical Greek times in which he was writing.
According to Plato, Atlantis was a great island in the Atlantic Ocean, but its control extended beyond the “Pillars of Heracles” into the Mediterranean as far as Egypt and Tyrrhenia (Italy). Its powerful and remarkable dynasty of kings arose directly from Poseidon, god of sea and of earthquakes, though this divine and heroic lineage gradually became diluted by mixing with mortal stock.
The resulting degeneration of this noble civilisation led it into a war with its former ally, Athens, and culminated in its cataclysmic destruction, which Plato dates as 9,000 years previously. Of the destruction itself, Plato simply notes, “Some time later there were earthquakes and floods of extraordinary violence, and in a single dreadful day and night all Athenian fighting men were swallowed up by the earth, and the island of Atlantis was similarly swallowed up by the sea and vanished”.
Now, all we are left with are questions. What was their science like? What made their system degenerate? Did they understand the power of water as Kneipp did? Did Atlantis fail as a society as America is failing in health care? And if so, what will happen to America, if it does not listen to seers such as Kneipp, Dr. Young, or Randall Fitzgerald?.
Fitzgerald boldly stated in his book “One Hundred Year Lie” that mankind, due to synthetics toxins being released in the sea, air and land, and used in foods, is slowly turning people into human mutants. He states this because there are now dozens of research articles documenting how sea animals are becoming intersexed creatures due to these toxins, and accompanying research that states that humans are experiencing parallel sterilization and intersex mutation in the population as well.
One of the chief tenets of the thalassophy belief system is that water can help kill us or water can help cure us. This is because we are composed primary of water so we had better get that one right. For all America's shortcomings, such as the over-reliance of a synthetic belief system in our food and water systems, the good news is that individuals can choose to be detoxified. There is a system of detoxification for every person and for every income level. Wellness is within reach and the primary means to become detoxified is to use the same means that made us toxic – water. “This is the best example of true and ancient thalassophy wisdom".
